The Healthy Communities Toolkit was produced by the American International Health Alliance (AIHA), a nonprofit organization working to advance global health by helping communities and nations with limited resources build sustainable institutional and human resource capacity. Through twinning partnerships and other programs, AIHA provides technical assistance using the knowledge and skills of experienced physicians, nurses, administrators, educators, allied health professionals, and civic leaders. This toolkit brings together the models, tools, and resources developed by AIHA through 15 years of collaborative health partnership programs in Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia that can be used to establish and manage similar programs around the globe.

The American International Health Alliance would like to thank its many partners overseas and in the United States who participated in these programs and helped create, refine, and put into practice the models, tools, and resources found in this toolkit. It is largely their experience and achievements that are represented herein.
