Three Nursing Resource Centers Open in CEE
Originally published in AIHA's CommonHealth, Winter 1999.Croatian and Czech nurses celebrated the opening of three new Nursing Resource Centers (NRCs) last fall to provide expanded information and technology resources to nurses in partnership cities and beyond. An NRC in Olomouc, Czech Republic opened September 24; the NRC at Zadar General Hospital in Zadar, Croatia opened September 28; and an NRC in Zagreb, Croatia opened October 20 at the University Hospital for Infectious Diseases.
The centers serve as an independent learning resource, providing nurses with the opportunity to improve their leadership and clinical skills, search the Internet, or design teaching materials for seminars or workshops. The NRCs also double as a meeting place for nursing associations, professional societies and individual nurses.
