Role of Professional Nursing Associations
Linda Cronenwett, PhD, RN, FAAN, is currently is professor and dean of the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Cronenwett received her BSN from the University of Michigan, her MA in Maternal-Child Nursing from the University of Washington, and her PhD in Clinical Nursing Research from the University of Michigan.

This five-page document contains an outline of a speech given by Dr. Cronenwett discussing the role of professional nursing associations, and can be used to help you gain a broader understanding of nursing associations, their history and benefits.

Albanian Nursing Association Workshop (in English and Albanian)
The Albanian Nursing Association Workshop file provides an excellent framework to begin your discussion about starting a nursing association. It gives parameters to help keep your start-up meeting on track and suggests, and elaborates on, ways to communicate most effectively. Topics include: group rules, manner of confronting, active negotiating, passive negotiating, negotiating process, interest-based negotiation and avoiding conflict.

Part 2 of this document will help you define your association mission and vision statements, and Part 3 includes a discussion of leadership, including attributes of successful leaders and making a difference through leadership.
