Core WWC Services

Women's Wellness Centers are expected to be innovative and client-centered, offering services that address women's health needs from adolescence through the post-menopausal years. While variation in the package of services made available by each center is expected, the following are considered the core services of WWCs:

• Family planning and reproductive health programs



• Prenatal care, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and childbirth classes



• HIV/AIDS and STI prevention, detection, treatment, and management



• Cancer education and screening



• Mental health education, counseling, and support groups for depression, domestic violence, and rape



• Telephone hotlines for counseling and crisis intervention



• Substance abuse education, identification, and cessation



• Chronic disease education, screening and treatment



• Peri- and postmenopausal education and clinical interventions



• Healthy lifestyle education, nutrition and exercise counseling



• Adolescent health programs, sex education and peer support groups



• Community outreach
